THE marriage between Rebecca Umpleby, daughter of Richard Umpleby, of Killinghall, and Kate Hart, of Starbeck, and Sio Mauganai, son of Loretta and Sam Mauganai, of New Zealand took place at Bilton House.
The bride, who was given away by Richard Umpleby, wore a strapless ivory dress with rose petal detailing and a ivory veil with ribbon edging. The bridal bouquet was a mixture of purple and cream orchids, freesias and tulips. Chief bridesmaid was Gem
ma Ingles, bridesmaid Carrie Umpleby, they wore deep purple gowns with ivory wraps. Jessica Umpleby, the flower girl, wore a ivory gown with an ivory bolero. The bestman was Kurt Morath, groomsman Reuben Rehua. The bride walked down the aisle to the song First Time ever I saw your Face by Roberta Flack. The reception was at The Yorkshire Hotel, the couple performed their first dance to The Pretenders - I'll Stand By You. Rebecca works as a social worker in Leeds and Sio works as a labourer and rugby player. A heart shaped wedding cake was handmade by the bride’s mother Kate Hart. The couple were seperated for 6 months of their wedding preparations as Sio obtained his visa from New Zealand, the couple would like to thank their family and friends for all their support during this time and for making their wedding day so special.
