CHAIRMAN Bill Fotherby has revealed Harrogate Town's wage bill is likely to go up - not down - for season 2008-09 in Blue Square North.
Town’s failings in the play-offs had sparked fears that Fotherby may slash the budget to move in line with the revenue from Town’s disappointing home crowds.

However, Fotherby has revealed that early talks point the way to a bigger and better budg
et next year.

“I’ve had a meeting with Neil Aspin, Andrew Thirkill and Howard Matthews and we’ve sat down and discussed the coming season, what went wrong and what we could do better this season,” he said.

“It was very productive and I was pleased with the meeting we’ve had.

“With the budget we’ve gone a long way down the line with that and we’ve had a good response from the sponsors up to now and I'm hoping that will get even better.

“The way it’s looking, it’s going to be even better.”

Fotherby also revealed that every squad member has signalled their desire to stay, leaving some difficult choices ahead with Town already having a shortlist of potential signings.

“There are certain players out there who we see will do us the power of good,” said Fotherby.

“I’ve looked at this with Neil Aspin and Trevor Storton and I’ve given them the OK to go and get them.

“I’m also delighted that every single player here wanted to sign a new contract.

“Now we have to sit down and see.”
