THE first ever North Yorkshire Performance Centre Junior Badminton Tournament took place at the start of December.
Players from all across North Yorkshire participated in the event held at Harrogate Racquets Club.
The U-12s matches took place on Saturday which saw local girl Judith Peatman take the girls singles title while in the B event Anna Cassells-Smith narrowly beat Hannah Cahill.
Alex Noland won the U-12s Boys Singles from Group A and James Hattersley from Group B, the boys then played each other which resulted in a 21-11 win for James Hattersley.
The U-14s Boys' doubles saw Chris Benwell and Matthew Peatman winning Event A and Tom Readshaw and James Dinsdale winning Event B.
Judith Peatman was an all-round frontrunner having won the U-12s Ladies Doubles with Abby Downing, 21-8, 21-12 against Anna and Abby Cassells-Smith.
The Boys Doubles U-12s champions were Joseph Mercer and James Hattersley.
Head coach Nitin Panesar said: "It was a wonderful event.
"We saw how much our Performance Centre had progressed as well as seeing a wealth of young talent at both the U-12s and U-14s age group produce such performances.
"The players should be extremely proud of themselves."
The club wish to say a special thank you to Mark Peatman for organising the event along side fellow committee members Sheila Dickson, Grant Dorward, and chief photographer Tim Barrett and Carlton for all the prizes.
A DVD of the tournament is now on sale.
