FOLLIFOOT skipper Paul Angove will rally his troops before an early season crunch match away at current leaders Illingworth tomorrow (1.30pm start).
Third-placed ‘Foot will be looking for a turnaround in form after slipping to consecutive Division Two defeats at the hands of Pool and Thackley respectively.

Angove is desperate not to make that three on the spin as his side look to jump back to the top and kick start their promotion push again.

“By all accounts they’ve got a lot of new faces down there,” said Angove.

“But we’re looking to put Saturday’s result behind us. We know the league isn’t won in seven games it’s won in 22 so we’ve got to make sure we’re there in the two promotion places at the end.”

On Saturday ‘Foot’s Chris Morrison (4-24) and Richard Procter (3-21) restricted Thackley to 150 all out. However in-form bowler M Ali scooped 6-23 in response as ‘Foot folded to 92 all out, Steve Bowes resisting with 29.

“It was a disappointing performance to be honest,” added Angove.

“We did well to restrict them to 150 but we batted poorly, the wicket was still a bit wet from the rain we’ve had recently.

“But we’re still in third place and right in the mixer at the moment. We got off to a great start to the season winning our first five games, now we’ve got to come back.”

After an early season blip KNARESBOROUGH are well and truly back in the winning groove and evergreen skipper Adam Pryor is hoping his side prolong their run of two straight wins.

‘Boro’s captain is looking forward to tomorrow’s home clash against Pool, a game which begins a difficult few weeks of fixtures for his side

“It’s a big four weeks for us,” he said.

“We’re playing the top three and then Upper Wharfedale so that will determine where our season will go at the end of that.”

Saturday’s high scoring victory over Harden has propelled the Aspin Lane outfit up to sixth in the Division Two table much to the delight of their captain who bagged his second century of the campaign in West Yorkshire.

Pryor (116), Charlie Mylne (45) and Jon Corcoran (61no) guided ‘Boro’ to 291-6 before Andy Ward (5-47) and S Ryan (3-16) skittled Harden for 209.

“Obviously my personal form is good but the team is playing well too,” said Pryor talking about his second hundred of the season.

“We’ve won our last two games and to bowl two teams out in row has been a good effort by the lads.
