SUNDAY will certainly prove a milestone for one Bilton cricketer as he attempts to mark the end of his twenties with a performance to remember.
Wicketkeeper/batsman Paul Cannings turns the big 30, the same day his side travel to Calverley for a repeat of their rained off Waddilove Cup clash on Sunday (2pm start).

It promises to be a momentous occasion for the former Monk Bretton player as Carl Heptinstall's side continue their march in the competition.
Cannings is looking forward to the game and desperate for some early birthday cheer to kick-off a big night of celebrations.

"I'm really looking forward to the game on Sunday," said Cannings.
"The draw has been kind to us and there is a great opportunity to reach another Waddilove final. It's disappointing that we got called off last week, especially when it was such a glorious day.
"Knowing it was my 30th the following week i had an eerie feeling that we would have to use the reserve day.

"I had planned to do the 50 pub challenge in York on Sunday but playing cricket at Calverley is a close second.
"We had a close game against Calverley a couple of years ago and I'm sure it'll be a good game on Sunday. Hopefully some birthday runs are on the cards!"
Bilton start yet another double header with an important clash against close rivals Pool tomorrow (home 1.30pm start).

James Ward's side have struggled so far this season but after their crucial two run win over Collingham on Saturday are now just three points behind Bilton in the table.
"First and foremost we have Pool on Saturday and it's crucial we pick up the lion's share of the points to move away from the relegation zone," continued Cannings.

"Pool are a strong side but hopefully we can replicate the result of the first game of the season with some positive cricket."
On Saturday Bilton picked up two crucial points at home to current leaders Guiseley in a fiery contest.

Batting first Aussie Dean Russ (98) and skipper Dave Pennett (50) batted the West Yorkshire side to 205-6, Shane Murdoch the pick of the bowlers with 3-42.
Bilton started slowly in reply losing quick wickets however a fine partnership between Andy Walker (52) and Murdoch (49no) handed them a losing draw on 180-7.

Meanwhile BECKWITHSHAW captain Charlie Lister is desperate to wipe June out of the memory bank as they eye more fruitful times this month
'Shaw were knocked out of the Waddilove, picked up just two points in the league and slipped out of the npower Village Cup last Sunday, just four wins away from a final at Lord's.

Lister is now desperate for a turnaround in form starting with a crucial top of the table clash at home to Rawdon tomorrow.
"We'll be looking for a similar result as the fine win on the opening day of the season," he said.

"We've been pleased with the first half of the season, it's just been the month of June we want to put behind us.
"But the positive is we're still in a good position, we just need to go on a bit of a run in the league."
'Shaw can collect their first trophy of the season on Monday when their Evening League side tackle Bardsey in the final of the Addison Cup.

Lister will then be hoping his troops with their new found confidence can have a good go at challenging for the Aire Wharfe crown on a Saturday.
"It's important for us we get back to winning ways," continued Lister.
"The last few weeks we've been quite poor. On Saturday we just let Green Lane get 20 runs too many and that cost us in the end."

Batting first Green Lane's Indian overseas Vivek Mahajan top scored with 97 as Lane posted 221-6.
In reply Alex Malcolm (68), Ben Quick (34) and Steve Walmsley (40) tried to bat 'Shaw home but despite only needing eight off the final over they closed on 219-7 to take two points.
On Sunday meanwhile Streethouse came out on top in their National Round clash in the npower Village Cup.

In Division Two KNARESBOROUGH'S lead has been cut at the top of the table however Adam Pryor's side will be firm favourites to bounce back tomorrow when they welcome struggling Harden.

The captain will be looking forward to the clash as they eye a repeat of their victory on the opening day of the season.

On Saturday Silsden's Matthew Pinniger (144) raced to his third consecutive century as the away side made 275-6, Tom Metcalfe the pick of the 'Boro' bowlers with 3-61,
In response Pryor made a valuable 78no and Aussie Dale Tormey (71) again proved his weight however they eventually had to hold on for just one point on 205-9.

Elsewhere FOLLIFOOT welcome Upper Wharfedale tomorrow with Paul Angove's men targeting a six-point victory.
On Saturday John Akrigg (133) was the thorn in their side as they made 246-7 in the face of Chris Morrison's 3-56.

Mike Stanford (48) and Mike Halmshaw (77) then tried their best to bat 'Foot home but they eventually closed on 204-7 and two points.
