AT the Burns Night Dinner at the Cairn Hotel, Harrogate, Dennis Bailey piped in the haggis and Peter Goodwin gave a wonderful processions followed by the honour of addressing the Haggis, writes Coleen Gruenwald.
With over a 100 guests in attendance it made the evening very profitable for the Meningitis Research foundation. Harrogate Florists kindly donated flowers for all of the tables; many local businesses also donated items which were raffled at the event this raising £800 plus. Yorkshire Events Photography attended the event and plans to donate a percentage of their sales to the Meningitis Research Foundation as well, I anticipate my fundraising for the year expected to exceed £1500. The date is already set for the next event on January 31, 2009 at the Cairn hotel, Harrogate. For details contact Colleen on 0113 2843422 or jim_colleen@btinternet.com. Thanks to the Harrogate Advertiser and Knaresborough Post for all the times they put this in the paper. Stray FM for playing my advert so often. Harrogate Florists (for the floral arrangements). Matt Sealby for posting all the letters and soaking up the costs. To all of the local restaurants and Stores that kindly donated prizes that we raffled. Valerie Thomson for her assistance at the event. To my husband Jim and daughter Rhiannon for all of their patience and support when I was planning the event. Finally to the Cairn Hotel and employees for making this a success and all of those who attended.
