THE Knaresborough branch of the Candlelighters held a 'Love the 70s' themed charity ball in January at Knaresborough Golf Club.
120 guests danced the night away to Abba duo, Gimme, and the music of DJ John Brad. £2,500 was raised for the charity from ticket sales, donations from local businesses and an auction of favours which included a riding lesson, champagne, wine and an electric car. Organisers Carolyn Addyman, Vicky Hall, Ali Hill, Julie Addyman, Jo MacLean and Gerry Sarsfield were thrilled with the night. Vicky Hall said: "All the money raised goes towards the Children's Cancer Unit at St James's University Hospital, Leeds. Thank you to everyone who supported this worthy cause."
