Westminster came to Harrogate for an evening of Any Questions at St Aidan's C of E High School. Sixth Former EMMA GREATOREX writes about the night:
FRIDAY April 11 saw the night where BBC Radio 4 came to St Aidan's to record its famous program Any Questions, where the public gets the chance to challenge politicians and public figures about current issues.

The show has been running for 59 years and the station alone can attract over 640,000 listeners per week.

The evening featured four panellists Alan Johnson, William Hague, Shirley Williams, and Dr John Sentamu who were joined by presenter Jonathon Dimbleby to debate current issues that were in the headlines last week.

Normally I would not be interested in something like this and hastily agreed to go along with my dad but, when we got there and listened to the show I found it really interesting to listen to everyone's views about current issues.

The audience got the chance to ask the panel questions about issues ranging from the Olympics protests to Zimbabwe and in some cases the audience were able to feedback their own opinion to the panellists.
I never thought I would enjoy the evening as much as I did and certainly learnt a lot more about the panellists and their views on the topics raised.
