GATEWAYS School held a fashion show to raise money for Amnesty International. Lower Sixth Former Eleanor Doyle wrote about the success of the night;
MONDAY February 25 was a night to remember when two dedicated Gateways girls, Olivia Watson and Elizabeth Anderson, presented to us the Gateways Amnesty International 'Stand Up For Fashion' show.

The event had taken weeks of preparation, which involved contacting sponsors and auditioning eager pupils to be models.

Amanda's, Mint, Therapy and Miss Selfridge provided high street fashion for the show, along with Hannah Finan and Rebecca Caine's quirky, unusual, yet very fashionable designs.

The sophisticated and stylish male clothing was designed and created by Lauren Fox, with a few 'different' models from Gateways making the show extra special (Thank you staff!).

Mrs Fellerman, a teacher at Gateways, allowed some girls to model her range of hand crafted, spectacular hats.

There was also a raffle to finish of the night, which included prizes such as a night at the five star hotel, Bijou in Harrogate, a family pass for Harewood House, one month's free wraps at Wrapid, and Rose and Co. Products, just to name a few!

The night began with two Amnesty International video clips to remind the audience of the reasons they were there.

An amazing dance by the Gateways Dance Club followed this and then it was all over to the gorgeous models on the catwalk.

Before the interval there was also a guest appearance from the beautiful model, Caprice, who gave her support to the cause and reminded us of the importance of raising money.

During the interval, drinks and cakes were sold in order to raise more money for Amnesty, as well as some special products from our LEAP enterprise groups.

A huge congratulations is in order as £1,500 was raised over the evening in aid of Amnesty International. Great thanks to both Olivia and Elizabeth, and also to Ms Johnson for her support, the models for their time, to the clothing stores and designers for their generosity and also to all the businesses who donated prizes for the raffle.

The night was definitely a great success, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
