Jim, a former gangster, will be speaking at the Memorial Hall, Park Road, Pateley Bridge at 7.30pm. Being in and out of prison for car theft, burglary, forgery and illegal gambling, Jim eventually turned his life around when he realised booze, women, drugs and gambling just didn’t make him happy. “....I pulled a rifle on two cops. If I blow them away, I though there’s a 50-50 chance I’ll get away. And if I don’t it’s a sure bet I’m going back to prison....Eight police cars chased us. This wasn’t like the movies: They were shooting real bullets!”
