A KNARESBOROUGH primary school is celebrating success in a schools' Athletics competition.
Knaresborough St John's CE Primary School won the Knaresborough school's Athletics Festival which was held earlier this month at King James's School.

The team consisted of children from Years Three through to Six, although the majority of Year Six children were away on the school residential visit.

Through funding from extended schools, the school has run an Athletics club with teacher, Miss Pashby and Athletics coach Dave Millea, which has raised the profile of the sport in the school.

Miss Pashby said: "I was very proud of every child who took part in the festival. They produced some great performances and supported each other tremendously - they were all a credit to St John's."

The school won overall showing an excellent team effort she added and will now represent Knaresborough in the Harrogate and District Athletics Festival on July 8 at King James's School.
