THE 1953 KNARESBOROUGH Air Training Cadets are looking for new members.
The Knaresborough squadron is amongst 1,000 other squadrons of the Air Training Corps (ATC), which is one of the country's premier youth organisations and the world's largest youth air training organisation.

For cadets, you need to be aged 13 to 1
8 years and interested in participating in exciting and challenging activities. Opportunities open to cadets are wide ranging and include sports such as football, rugby, netball and hockey plus weekend and week-long camps in the UK and overseas.

Also on offer is free flying and gliding and the opportunity to be trained by professionals and fly an aircraft solo. You can expand on your current qualifications and gain a BTEC and work towards gaining your Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

The ATC is run by trained adults, mostly volunteers with no RAF or other military experience, and it is these members that ensure the continuation of the organisation.

If you’re interested in helping to develop the young adults of the future and you’re 20 years or over, then you are invited to contact the squadron to find out more about helping out.

For details, please call Flt Lt Ian Bottomley on 01423 867 367 on Tuesdays or Fridays between 7pm and 9.30pm.
