A SHOWCASE of work from GCSE, AS and A2 level Design and Technology students at King
James's School was on display last week.
The school, which has Design and Technology specialism status, put on the exhibition in the Chaloner Hall to display the tremendous range of activities and work the department teaches.
From the award-winning Greenpower Car produced by the Young Engineers Club, laser cutting equipment, examples from students working with resistant materials, product design ideas and textile samples to electronic products, there was even some tasty food nibbles from the hospitality and catering students included in the evening.
A Fashion Show complete with raised catwalk saw a number of the girls modelling a range of designs and creations from the GCSE, AS and A2 fashion students. With great sound and lighting the show was exciting, inspiring and showed off the work of the talented designers to great effect.
Universities were represented for those students wanting to discuss and look at career options and the hall was packed with visitors, pupils and parents enjoying the evening.
This was definitely one event that the school could repeat and build on for the future.
