Players panto raises more than laughs
Cheques for £500 have been handed to both Martin House Hospice and the Teenage Cancer Trust to support local families affected by cancer.
“This donation forms part of an ongoing pledge to support local cancer charities in memory of Joanna Luty, a former Pannal Players member, who lost her life to cancer at the age of 21,” said a group spokesman.

Hide AdAfter several runs of modern day pantomimes, which have included Parry Hotter, Robin Hood and this year’s George’s Dragon, the Players have announced they will be returning to traditional pantomime next year with Cinderella.
This much-loved favourite will be written and produced by ex-cast member and former Consort to the Mayor of Harrogate, Clive Kirkham.
Clive has been a familiar face in previous pantomimes; his roles have included the wicked the Queen in Snow White and Sir Guy of Guiseley in Robin Hood. Clive also choreographed this year’s pantomime.
“Our production of Cinderella promises to be a fun-filled take on this popular fairy tale and will feature wonderful songs, guaranteed to get the toes tapping,” said Clive.
