West Oaks fair a big success

WEST Oaks’ first Summer Fayre since 2000, when the Friends of West Oaks organised a very successful millennium event, was held on Saturday, June 21.

After a promising start, during which time youngsters enjoyed the bouncy castle and those too old or big to take part in that could have refreshments at the outdoor café, the weather became inclement. This did not deter the arrival of the fire engine or the police dog handlers and the donkeys had their raincoats on!

In anticipation of the our usual British summertime weather, most stallholders had set up their wares inside the building and Magic Mal provided an entertaining distraction for the children with his magic show and balloon sculpture. The Friends would like to thank everyone who helped or came to the fayre which raised just under £600.
