WHILST some of us pay our extremely high and ever increasing business rates in order to run our businesses locally, it seems that a much cheaper and easier way to do business is simply to use the beautiful Harrogate Stray for business premises!

I am the only one to have recently noticed how many cars there are for sale parked all over the Stray? A recent count showed over 20 cars permanently parked along Coach Road, and the Christchurch area.

Many of them show the same phone number and so are obviously not private sales. These cars are taking up car parking spaces, which together with other long term parkers is causing great difficulties for local residents and businesses.

The local police and the council seem to take no action against these unofficial car sales lots. Surely something can be done?
