From: Irene Saunders, College Grove, Masham.
ON September 11, I and others saw in the sky above Masham 20 luminous objects travelling in an arc south east to north west at about 10pm.

As they travelled NW they lost luminosity - all at the same point as if they had originally been reflecting the sun's rays. It was a clear night so they were not entering cloud.

My brother who is used to seeing satellites thought that's what they were. I have been given another explanation that they are some form of party 'balloon'.

Other people tell me they saw the same phenomenon on August 11, a month before, and that there were letters in the Gazette about them.

Can anyone enlighten me?
