WE had heard a lot of allegations and hate against the BNP. Have we heard anything about the political affiliations or indiscretions of any other Euro candidates several decades ago? If not, why not? Several prominent figures in the Labour Party have been Communists (John Reed, Peter Mandelson, Dennis Healey) and others have been revolutionary Marxists (Alistair Darling, David Triesman). These affiliations are rarely if ever mentioned.

The newspapers seem determined to subject the BNP and its candidates to the sort of forensic examination that the other parties and candidates are exempt from. There appears to be a consensus or even agreement among all of the political class and its mouthpieces to attack the outsiders and keep political power to itself.

The British National Party in Yorkshire won over 120,000 votes – more than half of the Labour vote and 40 per cent of the Conservative vote. The public deserves to hear what the BNP MEP wants to achieve in the European Union and not just what his political opponents think about him.
