MRS Lambert writes to the paper regarding the empty shops. Empty shops are an eyesore. We could do with what other towns have and we have not.

From Doncaster to Middlesborough even some small towns have places like these: 99p Store, Poundland/Stretcher, Home Bargains Centre, definitely Wilkinsons, Iceland, Heron Foods, Farmfoods, what a way to save our money.

I use my bus pass and go all over and get bargains. Yes, a market would be good and more cafes/restaurants with good wholesome Yorkshire and English/British food.

I personally do not care for Chinese food and do not eat a lot of curry. But we should promote our food.

We have Co-op, Asda, Sainsburys and Waitrose and Morrisons. Is Tesco a necessary store? Leeds market is superb and closer places like Otley, Skipton, Ripon and Knaresborough etc are very good.

Maybe somebody high up can ask some firms if they would come here?
