From Ted Wilkinson, Watch Manager, Knaresborough Fire Station.
SOME Knaresborough firefighters are taking part in the Yellow Helmet Challenge Cycle Ride from August 16-19, and further to previous correspondence, when we informed readers we had raised £668.61 through a pub bucket collection and a car wash at the Fire Station, a second Fire Station car wash on August 10 raised another £346.08.

This brings the total so far raise to £1014.69 for the benefit of the Fire Brigade Benevolent Fund and the Air Ambulance Service.

We are delighted with the amount raised so far and would like once again to thank the kind people of Knaresborough for their generosity so far.

In advance of the cycle challenge event, which starts on Sunday, August 17, the Co-op on Chain Lane has very kindly agreed to place collection buckets at checkouts.

All donations would be gratefully received.
