Festival a gem but reduce volume at Hall

NOW that the Harrogate International Festival is over I reflect on how fortunate we are to have such a rich and varied programme of music and other arts annually.

Some of the gems are to be found in the Young Musicians series which provides a platform for younger artists not yet of the same standard or fame as John Lill.

The newly restored Royal Hall hosted some interesting events but could do with less amplification.

I heard many other concert-goers complain that the volume was 'too high' (or completely unnecessary).
