From: Barry Jeffrey, Secretary, Bilton Community Centre, Harrogate
IN YOUR articles in the Harrogate Advertiser dated July 18 and August 8 on the subject of the re-opening of the Woodfield and Dene Park Community Centre following its complete makeover, you have twice reported that this was the only provision of its kind in the Bilton area.

Could I point out that this statement is inaccurate as the Bilton Community Centre on Bilton Lane, which was founded in 1957, has been a central part of the local community for more than 50 years and continues to go from strength to strength with over 22 groups enjoying its facilities on a regular basis throughout the year. As well as the regular user groups the Centre also plays host to numerous individual functions, ranging from birthday parties, anniversary celebrations and Christening teas through to the free use of the Centre and its facilities by other charitable organisations.
