Confused by the etiquette

OH DEAR! It seems I have touched a nerve with Coun Geoff Webber in regards to whom should take the credit for highlighting the illegal car sales on the Stray, being raised in the Advertiser a couple of weeks ago.

What I find hard to understand is why should Coun Reg Marsh request action to be taken on this matter, for Coun Mackenzie to have to then ask permission to take such action?

Surely Coun Marsh has requested action and action is what he has got!

Obviously I am no expert on the correct etiquette of the council as a regular member of the public.

However, credit where credit is due, Coun Geoff Webber's response to my initial letter has confirmed my feelings of just how 'petty' some councillors can be.

Regardless of who's idea it was first to tackle the issue (and I'm sure the idea has been around prior to this summer), I hope that the cars being sold illegally can be removed from the Stray.
