Published Date: 09 May 2008
From: James Fozard, Norfolk Road, Harrogate.
D STROVER'S letter (May 2) regarding Harrogate Town AFC contained a number of inaccuracies. He suggests that Hyde has nothing to do with the north of England, despite the town being located in Tameside in Greater Manchester.

He claims that Town's average attendance is 400 when it is in fact 542, and he states that Tamworth recently attracted a crowd of over 3,000 when in fact it was AFC Telford who attracted this figure to a match – against Town.

Finally, he asserts that Tamworth has a population half the size of Harrogate, when in fact the figure is 74,531 (compared to Harrogate and Knaresborough 85,612).

Can I ask Mr Strover and others who write in to criticise Harrogate Town to check their facts, or people may suspect they don't know what they are talking about!
