I AM standing down as chairman of the Friends of the Valley Gardens.
I have been chairman since it was formed in 1987 to save the Sun Pavilion and Colonnades from being demolished.
Our presidents were Geoffrey Smith, James Herriot and David Bellamy.
After 22 years I feel my job is done. The Sun Pavilion and Colonnades are safe.
