THE Knaresborough feva festival ends this weekend.
There’s still plenty to see over the last three days if you haven’t already been.
In a first for the festival, The Real CSI sees forensic scientist Helen Pepper recount her experiences of investigating crimes ranging from simple theft to murder an
d terrorism.
You can hear her today at 2pm at the Frazer Theatre. Tickets £4 on the door.
Showing tonight, also at the Frazer Theatre, courtesy of Knaresborough Film Club, is The History Boys, the acclaimed film version of Alan Bennett’s play. Starting at 7.30pm, tickets are £6 and £5 on the door.
The popular Picnic in the Park in the grounds of Knaresborough House takes place tomorrow from noon till 6pm featuring local bands, whilst Picasso is the subject of a talk by Ian Gray tomorrow evening taking place at Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre at 7.30pm. Tickets £5.
Egyptian dancing is the order of the day in the Frazer Theatre at 7.30pm tomorrow when the Egyptia Dance Troupe show off their skills. Tickets £5 and £3.
Sunday sees free entry to Knaresborough Castle and Museum for visitors from 10.30am till 5pm and a free guided walk through the Nidd Gorge at 10am. Book your place for the walk on 01423 564708.
The finale evening will be a concert from Pro Musica in St John’s Church with a programme of Mendelssohn’s Octet and Haydn’s Cello Concerto, both firsts for the festival. Also included is Adagio for Strings by Barber and Canon in D (Pachelbel). Tickets £10 and £7 and the concert starts at 7.30pm.
Don’t forget to see the many art exhibitions showing in the town and take a tour too of the eye-catching trompe l’oeil (optical illusions) on town centre buildings.
