THE vegetable growing season continues at RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Harrogate this Sunday with another 'Grow Your Own Veg ' day.
The event is open to anyone who is interested in making their plot, whatever its size, as productive as possible. There will be themed walks, talks and demonstrations taking place between 11am and 4pm with advice for those who want to start their own vegetable plot.

RHS kitchen gardener Alison Mundie said: “Growing your own is a great way to encourage children and even the adults to eat vegetables and be more adventurous in what they will try. Plus it’s a great excuse to get more exercise and fresh air.

“There will be something for all ages, for example children can make their very own take-away lunch box, and adults can join in the various kitchen garden walks to find out what’s happening right now in the veg plot.”

The event is aimed at anyone from experienced vegetable growers wanting advice on a specific problem to families who would like to have a go at growing some salad leaves in a window box.

All of the day’s activities and talks are free of charge though usual garden entrance fee applies.

Harlow Carr Gardens are open daily from 9.30am till 6pm.
