HARROGATE Grammar School sixth former, Ashley Johnson is looking forward to appearing in next week's production of A Chorus Line when HSAP (Harrogate St Andrew's Players) take to the stage of Harrogate Theatre.
The hit Broadway musical show centres on 17 hopefuls auditioning for their big break, and Ashley plays Larry, one of the hopefuls.

A member of the society since he was 13, Ashley has taken part in many of the hit shows from HSAP including “Fame The Musical” and “We Will Rock You.”

“HSAP is a great training ground for people of all ages,” said Ashley. “You work with a professional production team, a dedicated choreographer - Louise Denison, a hard working Musical Director - Jim Lunt and a hard working committee. I’ve been part of the society for the last three years. Everyone at HSAP is so friendly and they work hard at what they do.”

A Chorus Line will mark Ashley’s final show before he goes to train professionally.

He already attends the Scala School of Performing Arts in Leeds, which has opened lots of doors for him, including TV work, and he is delighted to have gained a place at Body Work Dance Studios in September. Ashley would be grateful for any sponsorship to help cover the £9,000 yearly fees and if you’d like to help him, you can call 07914 884149 for details.

l A Chorus Line shows nightly at 7.30pm at Harrogate Theatre (including a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm) from Tuesday, May 20 to Saturday, May 24.

Tickets priced £9 to £15 available from the box office on 01423 502116.
