THE Prince of Wales has led tributes to Lilian Mina, the chairman of the Royal Hall Restoration Trust who lost her fight against cancer on Tuesday.
Prince Charles, who described Mrs Mina as "a remarkably special person", became Patron of the Trust in 2003.
When he visited the Royal Hall at the end of its restoration in January this year, Mrs Mina was his personal guide on the tour of the building.
She and other members of the Trust gained support from people including actor Edward Fox, who became honorary president of the trust, and honorary vice-president Dame Fanny Waterman DBE.
Those who knew Mrs Mina through a common passion for the Royal Hall have paid tribute to her achievements in helping raise £2.7m towards the £11m project.
And members of the community who have watched the progress of the refurbishment have expressed their sorrow at Mrs Mina's death.
