A LOCAL businessman who raised over £30,000 in one night for St Michael's Hospice has announced plans to hold the bonfire night fundraiser again this year.
Richard Jackson MBE DL, non executive chairman of Nidd Vale Group Limited, and wife Elaine raised £31,335 for the hospice at the bonfire night party at their Knaresborough home last November.
More than 150 guests enjoyed a giant bonfire, spectacular firework display and grand auction in the grounds of Loftus Hill, Ferrensby.
The party would have had a familiar feel for regular diners at Italian restaurant Brio, as the regional restaurant group provided the food, wine and waiters for the festivities.
Gianni Bernardi, owner of Brio Group, said: "As a long-term supporter of Saint Michael's Hospice I was delighted to provide authentic Brio hospitality for the night."
This year's party will be held on Sunday, November 2 and the Jacksons are keen to raise even more money for the Hornbeam Park based charity.
Richard said: "Saint Michael's is such a great local cause and I am proud to support their work."
Elaine Jackson, owner of Boston Spa-based interior design company Interior Affair, added: "As an active fundraiser for the hospice I am delighted to be involved in the bonfire festivities yet again.
"The party is so well supported and we look forward to another magical evening."
Richard Jackson also supports Saint Michael's Hospice through his charitable trust's membership of the hospice's Guild of Patrons.
He was originally joint managing director of the Centaur Clothes Group, as well as chairman of the award winning Nidd Vale Motor Group from which he de-merged the business of Mercedes Benz North Yorkshire in Harrogate, York and Scarborough.
Brio has four restaurants in the region, at Kings Road, Harrogate; Hornbeam Park, Harrogate; The Light, Leeds, and Great George Street, Leeds.
