HARROGATE Police are carrying out forensic tests on a knife found at a home in Bilton where an Eastern European man was arrested on suspicion of an alleged attack.
Armed police vehicles responded to an emergency call at 6.36pm on Tuesday at Fox Court, Bilton, where it is believed a woman had been attacked with a knife and glass bottle by her ex-boyfriend.

Police arrested a man at a separate house in Bilton just after 10pm, where he was found hiding in a loft.

A knife was discovered at the home and forensic scientists are examining it to determine whether it was used in the alleged attack.

The woman was taken to Harrogate District Hospital where she was treated for head and hand injuries.

Anyone with information should contact Harrogate CID on 0845 6060247.
