A BINGO hall destined for demolition has been granted a reprieve as its owners change their plans to convert it into a block of 10 flats.
Lucky Numbers, the last bingo hall in Harrogate, has finally lived up to it's name as a small section of the building is set aside for future use.

Owners Bartle Leisure Ltd had originally submitted an application to convert the hall into 10 flats, with parking, after the building became derelict through lack of use.

But as residents expressed their sadness at the loss of such a familiar and much-loved Skipton Road landmark, the owners retracted the original plans and instead tabled a smaller application in a revised scheme.

The planning application, granted unanimous approval by Harrogate Borough Council planning committee last week, will see eight flats built on the site of the existing hall, and the bingo club will be scaled down in size and moved to a building fronting Skipton Road.
