ONE of the country's leading car rally races has chosen Harrogate as it's starting point.
The Lombard Rally, billed as the ultimate race for civilians, will start in Harrogate on November 6, before following the route of the original race in 1971.
The lead car will start at 10am from Crescent Gardens, opposite the Royal Hall, flagged away by the Mayor of Harrogate and District, Coun John Fox.
The race will go north to Scotland, before turning back and returning to Harrogate for November 9.
Harrogate International centre is now selling spectator tickets for a demonstration of the 120 cars at the Yorkshire Event Centre on November 6 and 9.
Tickets cost £10, under 16s go free. To book, call the box office on 0845 1308840.
