Knife threat car jacking in Harrogate

TWO thieves forced a man out of his car while on a private test drive in Harrogate before stealing the vehicle.
Harrogate Police are seeking witnesses following the theft of the bright blue Audi RS4 Estate car at around 9pm last Sunday at Wescoe Hill, near Weeton.

The theft occurred when two men were on a test drive with the driver.

The front seat passenger pulled on the hand brake which caused the car to swerve before stopping.

Knife

One of the men threatened the driver saying he had a knife and forced him from the vehicle.

The first man is described as being Asian, 6ft tall of very thin build, short dark hair, late 20s and wearing light coloured zip- up cardigan-jacket and dark trousers.

The second man is described as Asian, 6ft tall of a heavier build in his late 20s wearing a black knitted hat and black zip- up bomber jacket.

The men claimed to be from Liverpool but both men are described as having West Yorkshire accents.

Serious

When the vehicle was stolen it was taken in the direction of Pool-in-Wharfedale.

DC Jane Lang-Burns, from Harrogate CID, said: "We are investigating a serious incident where a man has been threatened and his car taken.

"We are anxious to track the people responsible and anybody who may have information as to the whereabouts of the vehicle."
