MILLIONS of children dream of appearing in a World Cup final for their country's football team.
That dream could be about to come true for former Rossett School pupil Rachel Daly, 16, who is due to fly out to New Zealand on Thursday to represent England at the inaugural FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup.
Rachel, who plays at right-back for the national team, will face tough group games against Brazil, South Korea and Nigeria, with a possible final in Auckland on November 16.
Rachel is now studying a sports diploma at York College and has recently broken through to the first team squad at Leeds Carnegie Ladies, where she was a substitute against Chelsea in the FA Women's Premier League Cup defeat on Sunday.
Delighted dad, Martyn, said: "Rachel has been playing football since she was eight or nine and she went to the Fox Kids World Cup when she was 10."
