Harrogate fundraiser breaks £1m barrier
JEREMY HOPKINSON, area director of Yorkshire estate agents Dacre, Son & Hartley, has smashed through the £1m fundraising mark for charities across the region and beyond.
From running marathons to hosting auctions, Jeremy has raised £1,005,000 for numerous national and local charities. Recent balls in aid of the Yorkshire based charity, The Hope Trust, and Marie Curie Cancer Care all helped to crack the one million pounds barrier.
Jeremy, who lives in Hampsthwaite, has run the Paris and New York marathons plus the London marathon twice for Whizz Kidz, the charity helping disabled children throughout the UK.
On his 40th birthday, he ran the Great North Run for Cancer Research UK and he has rowed the equivalent of the marathon distance on an indoor rower for Children in Need. He has also completed the Coast to Coast Bike Ride raising money for Hampsthwaite Church Room Appeal and The Children's Society.
Jeremy said: "I'm proud to have raised so much money to help these charities continue to do their invaluable work. I couldn't have done it without my family, friends and fellow Dacre, Son & Hartley colleagues who have all inspired me and supplied numerous gifts and auction lots."
Jonathan Isles, managing director of Dacre, Son & Hartley, added: "Jeremy's fundraising achievements are testament to his dedication and outstanding efforts.
"We are delighted that he's exceeded the £1million target and we look forward to continuing to support his work."
l A profile of Jeremy will appear in a future Business Pink.
