HARROGATE District Hospital has been rated 'excellent' for cleanliness, food standards and maintaining privacy and dignity for patients in the annual Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT) inspections for 2008.
Patient Environment Action Teams were established in 2000. Under the programme, every inpatient healthcare facility in England with more than 10 beds is assessed annually and given a rating of excellent, good, acceptable, poor or unacceptable.

Harrogate has consistently received 'good' or 'excellent' results since the surveys began.

John Lawlor, chief executive of Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, said: "This is yet another superb result and without doubt is thanks to the efforts and superb team work from domestic, catering, estates and nursing staff at Harrogate District Hospital."
