CHRISTMAS came early for one Harrogate home which was this week dressed in 4,000 lights ahead of a charity giveaway.
Astonished neighbours on Hutton Gate gathered to watch as a family home was lit up on Tuesday with thousands of sparkling bulbs.

Owner Suzy Trott had volunteered the use of her home, which she shares with sons Jonty and Jordan, for use in a television advert for lighting specialists Lights4Fun.

The stunt took two days to arrange as the crew worked to dress the house with strings of the LED bulbs.

Now managing director Tim Naughton is set to give the lights away, and is looking for a deserving local charity to be on the receiving end of the donation.

The LED lights are 90 per cent more energy efficient than normal Christmas lights, so the 4,000 would use the equivalent of just five 60 watt bulbs.

Mr Naughton said: "To help the environment we all need to reduce our carbon footprint, so it is good to know that you can have fun at Christmas and feel good about the environment."

He is now asking local residents to nominate the charity of their choice, which will be given the energy efficient lightbulbs, valued at £800, in time for Christmas.

To nominate suggestions, email him at sales@light4fun.co.uk and the most popular local charity will be given the lights.
