There were 18 members at the meeting of June 24 and the task in this meeting was to write a piece entitled 'Up The Garden Path'. As usual there was a very varied response.
There were some descriptions of gardens, including a plague of rabbits and blackbirds, who demanded to be fed. Other members followed the line of up the garden path meaning being conned. One piece which stood out was a eulogy about beetroot sandwiches.
During the meeting, a presentation was made by Audrey Blackburn, the chairman, to Gill Michell, who has given great service to the group over many years. Gill will be much missed, but the group wished her all the best in her new home in Dorset.
New members are always welcome. The secretary can be contacted on 01765 692648.
