Royal Antediluvian Order of the Buffaloes
THE RAOB A One Lodge recently made presentations to two charities, firstly at the end of last year the lodge purchased a 42 inch plasma screen TV and DVD and video attachment for St John’s School for the Deaf at Boston Spa. The money for this was collected through fundraising and was received by Sarah Butterwick on behalf of St John’s School.
On March 8, a cheque for £1000 was handed over to the Alzheimer's Society Leeds Branch, based at Armley in Leeds. This is a service that provides help to younger people experiencing different forms of dementia. The presentation took place at the George and Dragon in Wetherby.
Mrs Samantha Jenkins on collecting the cheque said the money would help to ensure the good work of the centre would continue, helped with a dedicated army of volunteers.
The money was raised through various raffles and collections and Dave Gregson from the lodge climbed the three highest UK peaks in 24 hours as a sponsored event. The A One Lodge thanks all who helped with these appeals.
