EMPLOYEES at Knaresborough-based insurance intermediary Broker Network downed tools recently to enjoy a tea and cupcake party in an effort to raise money for local hospice, Saint Michael's.
The event was coordinated by Broker Network’s Charity Committee and raised over £225 through employee donations, which will be matched pound-for-pound by charity arm of Broker Network’s parent company, the Towergate Foundation, bringing the grand total to £450.

Cakes for the tea party were baked by employees while tea was donated by Taylors of Harrogate. Christine Norton, Development Manager at Saint Michael’s also attended the event.

Broker Network COO, Richard Shannon, said: “As a company we’re committed to doing our bit for charity both locally and nationally which is why we’ve set up a Charity Committee in order to translate this commitment into action.

“I’d like to pass on my thanks to Betty’s for kindly donating tea, to Christine for coming along and letting us know first hand about the vital work the hospice does and to all our employees who made cakes or lent their support on the day.”
