New Appointment for RBS in Yorkshire

The Royal Bank of Scotland has appointed Marc Shirman as Director of its Structured Debt Solutions operation in Yorkshire and the North East.
In his new role Marc will lead a lead a six-strong team based across Yorkshire and the North East that specialises in providing bespoke funding solutions to support leveraged finance transactions such as acquisitions, management buyouts and managemen
t buy-ins.

The team will provide debt packages up to £10m to SME businesses across the region that typically have a turnover of between £1m and £25m.

Marc joins from the North West where he was Director of the SDS. He started his career at KPMG where he trained in audit and then moved on to Baker Tilly where he worked in Corporate Recovery and Corporate Finance. He joined RBS in 2006.

Marc is a qualified accountant and member of the securities and investment institute. He is married with a newly born son and is relocating to North Yorkshire.

Commenting on his role, Marc said: "I am looking forward to working with the team across Yorkshire and the North East to build upon the bank's strong relationship with our existing customers and capitalise upon our market position to attract new customers in the region. My key objective is to deliver sustainability in our funding model by working closely with advisors and customers to create flexible debt solutions to help them achieve their business goals."
