PROFESSIONAL Services Group Mitchells is preparing to go head-to-head with City goliaths with the opening of a new office in the capital.
The firm, which has offices in Harrogate and Leeds, has transformed from a local accountancy practice into a multi-faceted professional services firm as it has built up its reputation in the North.

The group’s subsidiaries now offer executive recruitment, IT and corporate finance and consultancy and, according to chief executive David Mitchell, these are major areas for potential growth in the City and South of England.

“We have been competing successfully in the North against national competition and our London office will continue this growth in the capital,” said Mr Mitchell. “We are offering the Mitchells Group brand as an alternative to the larger and often internationally based corporate finance, executive recruitment and consulting companies.”

With much of the group’s growth to date organic, Mr Mitchell said acquisitions could not be ruled out.

“We are already talking to businesses which operate in our key markets in London and the south,” he said. “There is very definitely no shortage of opportunities for us, including amalgamations in the middle tier accountancy practices and larger based executive search recruiters.”
